Appointment of Non-Panel Judges
The Kennel Club J 6 regulation and rules state that –
‘The judges shall be appointed by the society holding the Trial which must satisfy itself that the person being invited to judge have practical experience of both Field Trials and the shooting field’.

Guideline to level of experience desirable:
Revised Oct 2021
- Attendance at the Kennel Club Seminar and passed exam
- Attendance at Practical Field Training Management Days minimum 3
- Active Management of running a Trial
- Carried a red Flag
- Stewarded
- ‘Book Carrying at a Field Trial ’ minimum 3
- Experience judging Pointing Tests minimum 3
- Experience judging Gundog Working Tests minimum 3
- Competitive experience in HPR Field Trials minimum 5 seasons
- Had a modicum of success
- Experience in the field with particular reference to shooting over dogs and game management minimum 3 years
